A Magical Winter Wedding | CT wedding photographer

January 25, 2011

Saturday Morning – 6:00 am – temperature: uhhhh so freezing cold. Not exactly the ideal conditions to get an early start in the day and leave the warm and cozy bed. But then the sun managed to come up over the horizon – and it transformed the cold and grey ice landscape out there into a sparkling winter wonder land. So beautiful. Ok – so here I went – out of bed – a hot shower – getting dressed and off I was – heading to the bride’s home. Almost anyways – first the car needed to be deiced and heated up. Soon my favorite Italian hits were playing from the stereo and I flew thru the little winding and snow covered backroads of CT – happy and smiling – ready to watch my friend at work and help photograph this wonderful wedding!

And then everything fell into place. The bride’s father gave us a warm welcome. My friend Brooke (from Brooke Allison Photography) had just arrived as well and soon the photo taking started. I was mainly there to observe and learn – as I was the “third” shooter that day. However, I still got to take some photos – most off them from a little different perspective than the main photographer (I tried to stay out of their way).

There was a permanent coming and going at Terra’s house – brides mades, maid of honor, grandmother (who looked so young she could as well have been the brides mom), flower girls, mother of the bride, friends, make up artist – and finally – Terra – the amazing bride! What a smile and charming personality!!

From the bride’s house we followed the limo to the reception – where the lovely groom Dave was already waiting :)

And here they are – the first photographs of the magical winter wedding of Terra and Dale:

Steffi……You had to be the STAR photographer for this wedding! I am sure
when they look over the different photos from the three different photographers…..that
yours will be the most outstanding of the group!!! Just fun and beautiful and what a
description you portrayed of this wedding through your photos. BRAVO!

Thanks Candace – you are the sweetest! So glad you like the pictures – even though there are no paws and snouts and wagging tails – lol :) I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome of these pictures – yet I still have so much to lear when it comes to weddings. My friend Brooke – who was the first photographer – is awesome! I love her to pieces and she is giving me this great opportunity here to learn and shoot! Hopefully me and her will soon photograph as a team!! I think we are a great fit – a winning combination :)) Ok – off to my photo workshop!
